Kataka Mem Cup: Kawafu Tackle B-13, Five Stars Face Ashirraf FC In Quarters

  • Kasenyi FC Vs Masgid Noor – Saturday, 30
  • Five Stars FC Vs Asihraff FC – Monday 1st August

 

Kataka Memorial tournament -Bulesa quarter final action kicks off this Thursday 28th July 2022 with group A leaders Kawafu taking on Group C runners up B-13 FC in a fight for a semi final slot.

 

Kawafu will look to veterans Mike Serumaga and Tonny Odur that were influential in their group A games if they are to knock out a youthful talented B-13 side.

 

Midfielders Yiga Sunday, Macheda and forward Nakabale will be among the stars to watch in the B-13 squad that is aiming at winning their first ever Kataka Mem Tournament title.

 

King Saha’s King Spot FC will play in the second quarter final on Friday against Juve that were runners up in group D.

The second semifinal is a balanced one involving two teams that use more of youthful players.

 

There will however be no action on Saturday as it has been, and the third quarter Final between Kasenyi and Masgid Noor will be played on Sunday.

It will be a hard mountain to climb for Masgid Noor that uses mainly Entebbe based players against big spenders Kasenyi FC that employees mainly National team and StarTimes Uganda premier league players.

 

Group D winners Ashirraf FC will take on Five Stars FC in the last quarter final on Monday.

 

The winner between Kawafu and B-13 FC will meet the winner between King Spot and Juve in the first semi-final slated for Saturday 6th August.

And the winner between Kasenyi and Masgid Noor will face off with either Ashirraf FC or Five Stars on Sunday 7th August

 

The champion will be crowned on Sunday 14th August 2022 and will walk a way with a Bull, 20 gold medals and a set of jerseys.

 

The second placed team will win a goat, 20 silver medals and a set of jerseys.

 

The 3rd and 4th team will both get a set of jerseys, only that the 3rd will get bronze medals as well.

 

The main purpose of this tournament is to remember the fallen colleagues that used to play at Nkumba Kataka play ground that include; Sam Bulesa, Ambassador Senyonjo, Philly Lutaaya, Musisi, Mangeni and others.

Any player from any area from any league is allowed to play in this tournament.
