Former Cranes captain named Red Bull II Head Coach.

Former Cranes captain Ibrahim Sekagya has been named as Interim Head Coach of New York Red Bulls II for the remainder of the season in the  USL Championship.

Sekagya who is in his eighth season as an Assistant Coach with Red Bulls II has filled in as Head Coach for three remaining matches during that span.

The Club did not state whether Sekagya’s position will be made permanent depending on his next performances.

New York Red Bulls II parted ways with Gary Lewis  a day before announcing Sekagya as interim boss.

Former Red Bull 2 Boss Gary Lewis

The former New York Red Bulls defender joined the technical team in 2015 after making 33 appearances with the club. Prior to that, he spent six seasons playing for Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, bagging three Austrian Bundesliga titles and an Austrian Cup championship.

Sekagya will take charge as his side New York Red Bulls travel to face Louisville City FC on Saturday, July 9, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The Former Cranes captain has hard a remarkable carrier to admire.
