The club management has issued an official statement confirming the sacking of the 2020/21 league winning coach.
The Club statement reads;
Express FC would like to confirm that Wasswa Bbosa is leaving his role as head coach with immediate effect.
The club would like to thank Wasswa Bbosa for his dedication and memories, most notable of those include winning the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (2020/2021) for the first time in 12 years and the CECAFA Kagame Cup, the first ever in the club’s history.
Express FC wish Wasswa Bbosa the best of luck in his future engagements.
The club also confirms that assistant coach James Odoch will take over in interim capacity until the end of the current season and will be assisted by goalkeeper coach Daniel Kiwanuka.
At the time of his sacking, the reigning league champions, are 10 points behind log leaders Vipers.
The CECAFA Kagame Cup champions have been struggling since the start of the season, but the sacking has been fueled by the 2-2 home draw with bottom placed Tooro United.
However, it is important to note that the sacked manager hasnot been in good terms with Club CEO Isaac Mwesigwa which was evident by the coach’s reaction towards the CEO after the Tooro United game.
Bbosa was confirmed head coach on a 3 year contract in July 2020 after working as interim coach and he replaced fellow club legend George Ssimwogerere.
