Bulesa Mem Tourney: Tanda, Kawafu Face off With A Quarter Final Slot at Stake

Kataka Memorial tournament -Bulesa action returns today Thursday at Kataka play ground in Nkumba as big boys Tanda and Kawafu battle for place in the last eight.

 

The group A clash today, will determine who joins Masgid Noor FC that has qualified for the knock stage.

Tanda with 3 points from the two games played, need maximum points (3) today to knock out Kawafu FC, while a draw will be just enough for Kawafu that has 4 points to qualify.

 

Kawafu Technical bench, Uncle Kawafu & others will be under the same pressure today.

 

Friday, will see another big one between Five Stars and Monaco in a clash that will also determine another team that will play in the quarters from group B.

 

Five Stars need all 3 points to stay in the tournament.

 

Monaco with a point and Five Stars with zero, Monaco needs a draw while the latter need maximum points (3) to reach the quarters.

 

The group B decider on Friday will determine the team that will join King Saha’s Kings Spot FC that has already qualified with 4 points.

 

Saturday, will see two teams that have already qualified form group C face off ; Kasenyi FC and B13 to determine who will qualify as group leader.

 

Both teams are tied at 6 points after defeating Lake View High School Kitinda and Entebbe Old Stars in their earlier fixtures.

 

The last group game on Sunday, will be an in-house derby between two teams; Kataka Sunday Special and Ashraf FC that share players that live and train togather at Kataka play ground.

 

Kataka SSP with no point, need to beat Ashraf FC that has a point if they are to play in this year’s quarter finals.

 

Quarter final games will start on Thursday next week and will end on Sunday.

 

All the games start at 4pm and the fans will pay Shs 2000 for all the last group games, quarter finals, semis and Finals according to organising committee chairman Nasser Kyeyune.

 

This tournament is played every year to remember all the fallen soldiers/players; Sam Bulesa, Ambassador Senyonjo, Philly Lutaaya, Mangeni etc, that passed on but were part of the Kataka play ground family.
