Both Buddo Secondary School and St Mary’s Kitende boarding School needed spot kicks to shoot out Standard High School Zzana and Kawempe Royal College Bulaga to reach this year’s district finals.

Holders Buddo SS defeated STAHIZA 6-5 in penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time in the 2pm fixture played at Kawanda SS play ground.
SMASK knocked out Fans’ darlings Kawempe Royal College 3-1 also in penalties after a goalless draw in normal time.

Ronald Ziraba headed Buddo infront in the 7th minute and early in the second half Henry Kato converted the penalty to level for STAHIZA.
Francis Kayondo, Ronald Ziraba, Edgar Kiggundu, Innocent Ronald, Sabir Mayor are among those that scored their penalties while Eddy Sebandeke was the only that missed his.
Jamil Kayizzi, Sula Mudiba, captain Akon, Henry Kato and Hassan Kalungi managed to score for STAHIZA then Mukasa Andrew and Kassim Kabozi missed theirs.
KCCA FC’s Charles Lwanga missed his but Captain Kawooya, Najib Yiga and defender ‘Maguire’ scored theirs for Kitende.

It was only experienced forward Juma that scored for Kawempe Royal.
In the classification matches played in the morning, Boston High School from Entebbe defeated Kawanda SS 3-0 and London College Madina in 8-7 in spot kicks after a goalless draw on normal time.
The two joined Buddo, SMASK, STAHIZA and Kawempe Royal as Waksio district representatives in Arua National post primaries.
Taggy High School beat St Noa 1-0. Scored the penalty for the Entebbe based school after Kamiyati Naigaga was brought on the area.
In other semifinal, Patricia Nakato scored Rines’s only goal to book a final spot.
The boys and girls finals, the classification matches will all be played at Wakisha Resource center, the home of StarTimes Uganda Premier league club Wakiso Giants tomorrow Saturday.
SMASK and KCCA FC forward Charles Lwanga along with Buddo SS & Arua Hill FC forward Innocent Ronald are leading scorers with 7 goals each, as we head into the finals.
Wakiso district Secondary Schools Sports association chairperson Gerald Katamba was greatful to the head teachers that sponsored the 24 schools and promised fire works in the final at Wakisha
We started this district tournament to get the six schools that will represent us in Arua, and we got 24 teams, and we are glad we have finished our second semi final game and we shall play the finals tomorrow at Wakisha Resource center. We have been challenged by lack of enough playing grounds and others were not good enough and many kids have got injuries.
COVID has also affected the schools, many schools are just rebuilding again.
This time we are not going to Sponsored by Coca Cola but rather the head teachers of these schools in Arua at Mvara SS.
We expect a very good final between Nsangi Zone’s Buddo SS and Kitende and we shall also have the finals of Wakiso Ball game one Sponsored by Fresh diary; that include Basketball, Table Tennis and Girls football
We want to thank the hosts Kawanda SS for the good work and Mbogo Mixed Secondary and lastly all the schools that have participated.
The hosts Kawanda SS head teacher Bukenya Ahmed Kamoga, was happy to host this prestigious event and thanked the organisers for giving them chance as a school that love Sports.
We are greatful as Kawanda SS to be chosen to host and we are happy it has been a success and we hope we are chosen to host again because we have the resources
