B13 FC eliminated big boys Kawafu FC 9-8 in penalties after a 2-2 draw in the normal time to progress to the semi-finals of Kataka memorial tournament- Bulesa 2022 .
B-13 FC that reached the quarter finals as group C runners up, knocked out Kawafu that led group A in a highly contested entertaining game played at Nkumba Kataka play ground on Thursday.
Ibra Sebuliba and Stephen Bukina scored for B-13, then Kennedy Sewankabo and Adam Mutesasira scored for Kawafu in normal time.
Ssebuliba gave B-13 an early lead in the 13th minute when he was well picked up by crafty Midfielder Sande and they kept the lead to the half time mark.
Nkumba University talented Midfielder Ssewankabo Kennedy levelled matters with only two minutes played in the second half.
Kibuli SS pacy-skillful winger Adam Mutesasira gave Kawafu the lead when he headed in a well crafted Farouk Musisi ball to make it 2-1.
Defender and Team captain Stephen Bukiina levelled from the penalty mark after Ssebuliba was brought down in the area to force the game to penalty kicks.
B13 talisman Robert Nakabaale got two chances to win it for his side before the final whistle but he wasted a very close free kick and he headed Bukiina’s cross into the hands of the Kawafu keeper on another opportunity.
Musisi also got a notable chance to get on the score sheet for Kawafu before half time but was denied by the goal keeper who made a figure tips save.
Kawafu that missed services of Mike Serumaga, introduced brought their dangerman Tony Odur, Baron and Lawrence to boost the attacking force but they didnot offer enough
Sirajje kisekka was introduced in the 53rd min for B13 for experienced Paddy Muhumuza who didnot give enough and experienced defender Bruno Mucholi Serunkuma was brought in for Nakabale.
In spot kicks; Kiggundu , Bukina, Sentamu, Senabulya, Serunkuma, Buyaala, Sande, Macheda, Ashiraf scored for B13.
Musisi, Adam , Junior, Baron, Tony Odur, Lawrence are among those that scored for Kawafu.
Action returns Friday when Kings Saha’s King Spot FC face for with Juve in the second quarter final.
